Newly released studies about air pollution fascinated me. The toxic level of our air rises and more and more people get sick. They talked about the rise of mental illness and brittle bones in connection with air pollution. If something like this would have happend centuries ago, where all people go mad, break bones and die they would blame it on god as a 'curse'. We could stop air pollution and climate change any minute but we won't because or our luxury lifestyle and profit. I wanted to refer to this ignorance by 'the curse of god'. The collection is all green because I refer to arsenicum green, a dye developed in the 19th century. It was only available to the rich because of the price point. So people loved to show off this color green in all things like wallpaper and dresses to show that they are rich. What they did not know was that this dye was highly poisonous, and a lot of rich people died as a result. They literally died of their greed. This color green looked like emerald green. The shapes and prints are inspired by the emerald itself. Greed for me is showing off your wealth, wearing jewelry and gemstones are one of them. The message behind this collection is: we will all die because our greed.
